Organization

InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and InfraGard members across the country. Given this unique public/private partnership, the organizational structure of InfraGard is unlike many professional organizations.

InfraGard membership is granted by the FBI. Once an individual becomes an InfraGard member, they are affiliated with a local InfraGard Members Alliance, a non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of the InfraGard program. These local InfraGard Members Alliances are paired with FBI InfraGard program coordinators to form an InfraGard chapter.

Individual InfraGard Members Alliances are represented at the national level by the InfraGard National Members Alliance. The InfraGard National Members Alliance works with the Public/Private Alliance Unit at FBI Headquarters in Washington DC to address issues facing local InfraGard chapters and further the goals of the organization as a whole. The private sector structure of InfraGard allows InfraGard members to engage federal, state, and local organizations in new and productive programs outside the purview of the FBI, when necessary.

InfraGard Pittsburgh is a cooperative effort of the FBI Pittsburgh Division and the InfraGard Pittsburgh Members Alliance. InfraGard members in the Western Pennsylvania region are automatically granted membership into the InfraGard Pittsburgh Members Alliance. InfraGard members are represented in the InfraGard Pittsburgh Members Alliance by the Board of Directors. The FBI Pittsburgh Division is represented by an FBI Pittsburgh InfraGard Program coordinator. InfraGard Pittsburgh events and activities are jointly organized by the Board of Directors and the FBI Pittsburgh InfraGard program coordinators.
