Join InfraGard Pittsburgh for a look at the state-of-the-art in high-performance computing, communications and cybersecurity when we visit the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC) on the morning of Friday, October 2, 2009. Speakers from the PSC will give an overview of the PSC (including a virtual tour of the datacenter via their security robot) and discuss the National Science Foundation's Teragrid program of coordinated cyberinfrastructure for education and research. In addition, a speaker from the CERT Coordination Center will provide an update on the latest in cybersecurity. Finally, the FBI will provide an update on recent investigations and cybercrime trends. James A. Marsteller Jr. CISSP
Information Security Officer, Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center
As the Information Security Officer of the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, James is responsible for ensuring the availability and integrity of the PSC's high performance computing assets. James has over 13 years experience in the information security field and greater than 18 years of professional experience in the field of technology. James also chair's the Teragrid Security Working Group and is vice chair of the Americas Grid Policy Management Authority (TAGPMA). Prior to working at PSC, James was a program manager for the Carnegie Mellon Research Institute that provided information security consulting services for government agencies and Fortune 500 companies.
Cheryl Begandy
Director of Education, Outreach and Training, Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center
Cheryl Begandy is the Director of Education, Outreach and Training at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), which is a joint operation of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. Ms. Begandy manages the PSC Corporate Affiliates Program which provides high performance computing (HPC) resources to private industry to improve competitiveness and innovation. She also oversees PSC programs in educational outreach, with a particular emphasis on introducing computational approaches to K-12 science education. She is responsible for other areas of outreach including programs with state and local government and economic development agencies.
Martin M. Lindner
Senior Member of the Technical Staff, CERT Program at the Software Engineering Institute
Martin Lindner is a senior member of the technical staff in the CERT Program at the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and is focused on providing technical support and expertise to U.S. government agencies. In his previous role as the team leader for the incident handling, Lindner was responsible for overseeing and processing all the security incidents reported to the CERT/CC. Lindner worked with government agencies, other CSIRTs, vendors, ISPs and security experts to understand and limit the impact of malicious Internet activity.

There are parking meters on many of the streets in Oakland. The SEI parking garage is available on Dithridge Street. There is also a valet parking garage under the building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Craig Street.
