Who should join InfraGard?

InfraGard members work for a variety of organizations that constitute the critical infrastructure of our nation (banks, utility companies, chemical companies, hospitals, telecommunication service providers, universities, and many others). Members often hold management or operational positions related to physical or cyber security, risk assessment, business continuity / disaster recovery, and engineering. By participating in InfraGard, individuals develop relationships with the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and local/state law enforcement, as well as relationships with their peers in other organizations.

Benefits of InfraGard Membership

How to Join InfraGard

InfraGard is an organization dedicated to the protection of the United States and the American people. Along with InfraGard membership comes great responsibility. We value active members who are willing to devote their time, effort and talent to help build this organization and achieve our goals of protecting the American people. As an InfraGard member, you will be a representative of the nation's largest volunteer organization dedicated to critical infrastructure protection.

In order to maintain a level of trust within the membership, all applicants undergo a records check performed by the FBI (for this reason InfraGard membership is currently limited to United States citizens). The InfraGard application records check is not equivalent to a security clearance background investigation. Applications are then screened according to a defined criteria and then passed to the local chapter for final acceptance.

Before you fill out your InfraGard membership application, please read the InfraGard Code of Ethics [PDF]. As a member of InfraGard, you will be expected to abide by these guidelines.

If you have any questions about InfraGard membership, please feel free to contact the FBI Pittsburgh Division InfraGard Program coordinators.
